Privacy Policy
// Last updated: February 8, 2026 — Lovecraft LLC
DbeatZ is operated by Lovecraft LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it straightforward.
1. What We Collect
| Data | Why | Stored Where |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Account login, password resets, important notifications | Our database (encrypted at rest) |
| Display name | Public profile, leaderboard, attribution on tracks | Our database |
| Password | Account security | Bcrypt hash only — we never store plaintext |
| Google account info | OAuth login (email, name, profile picture) | Our database |
| Prompts & lyrics | Generate your music, display on track pages | Our database |
| Generated audio | Playback, voting, leaderboards | Our servers |
| Votes & activity | Rankings, drip/drop counts, listen duration | Our database |
| Payment info | Credit purchases | Stripe only — we never see or store card numbers |
2. What We Don't Collect
- We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics
- We don't store credit card numbers (Stripe handles all payment data)
- We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone
- We don't use tracking cookies beyond essential authentication
3. How We Use Your Data
- Run the platform: Generate music, manage voting, calculate rankings
- Improve the service: Analyze aggregate trends (what genres perform well, generation quality metrics) — never individual behavioral profiling
- Communicate with you: Account notifications, password resets, important service updates
- Process payments: Via Stripe for credit purchases
- Prevent abuse: Rate limiting, vote manipulation detection, spam prevention
4. Who Sees Your Data
Public by default: Your display name, tracks, vote counts, and leaderboard position are visible to all users. Your email is never public.
Third parties we use:
- Stripe — payment processing (their privacy policy)
- RunPod — GPU infrastructure for music generation (processes prompts, does not store them)
- Hostinger — web hosting
- Google — OAuth login if you choose to sign in with Google
- Sentry — error tracking (captures technical errors, not personal data)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. AI-Generated Content
Your prompts and lyrics are sent to our AI music generation pipeline (ACE-Step via RunPod). The AI processes your input to create audio. Your prompts are stored in our database and displayed on track pages. Generated audio files are stored on our servers.
See our Terms of Service for rights and licensing details on generated music.
6. Children's Privacy
DbeatZ requires users to be 13 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us immediately.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data — view your profile, tracks, and activity in your account
- Delete your account — Settings → Delete Account removes your profile, tracks, and vote history
- Export your tracks — download your generated audio files from your library
- Correct your info — update your name, email, or password in Settings
- Request full data export — email us for a machine-readable copy of all your data
8. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained as long as your account exists
- Deleted accounts: Personal data purged within 30 days. Generated audio may be retained in anonymized form for platform features.
- Payment records: Retained as required by law (typically 7 years for financial records)
9. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, bcrypt password hashing, JWT authentication, rate limiting, and standard server security practices. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
10. Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- Authentication tokens — stored in localStorage (not cookies), used to keep you logged in
- Session cookies — for OAuth login flow (temporary, cleared after login)
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
